A Review...or 3

So I spent today loading the pod with new jams. Every now and then on a lazy Sunday I like to spend a few hours on the net and find some new music to throw on the pod....just what I like to do. ALSO...there were 3 albums in particular that I had my ears on and I wanted to get around to listening to them in their entirety so that I could put the songs that I liked on the pod as well. Here are my findings.

The Mars Volta / Octahedron
This came out last week I believe on the 23rd. Ummm well to start there are only 8 tracks on this album, so saying that I only like 3 of those shouldn't sound too bad. I really like The Mars Volta, I do, but it is always a hit or miss with me...I either like the song or I don't after the first time hearing it....their stuff doesn't "grow" on me. One thing that was consistent as it is with every Mars Volta album was the track names...I can never pronounce them or understand them! LOL
On the pod:
3. Halo of Nembutals
4. With Twilight as My Guide
7. Copernicus

Killswitch Engage / Killswitch Engage
This one comes out on this Tuesday the 30th I believe...I don't know I could be wrong. I stumbled onto this one, I didn't know they had another album coming out...oops. So I listened to the whole thing and honestly, I'm not really feeling it. I have never listened to any of their other albums in their entirety, but just based on their singles like "My Curse" and "End of Heartache" that have that heavy then melody mix that makes me like that band. This album doesn't seem as heavy. I can't even tell the songs apart (with the exception of Starting Over because it is the single that is out right now) There is one track that had some heavy drums that caught my attention for a minute but not long enough for me to remember which one it was. There is one track called "Lost" that caught my attention because the opening sounded so much like "End of Heartache" I thought it was a variation of it. I kind of dig this song, Howard Jones has an amazing voice...I just keep wanting it to be a bit heavier...I know they have it in them! Me no likey.

On the Pod:
I could do without having anything from this album honestly. But I did load the following because I have heard it so many times on the radio that it has grown on me.
2. Starting Over

Suicide Silence / No Time to Bleed
I have been tap dancing for this release! I am only a few months familiar to Suicide Silence, but ooooohhhhhh me likey. No Time to Bleed comes out on Tuesday the 30th as well, and you know I have my awesome little paws on it already. I have listened to this 3 or 4 times already...yeah it is that awesome. From start to finish it is good stuff. My music taste is everywhere but I had really been fienin for something new and loud and heavy and drums and guitar squeals and screams and headbangs and yeaaahhh. Color me satisfied.
On the pod:
The whole CD. Not one track left out 1-11 is loaded.

OK I am done...the BET Awards are on.
