10 Peas in a Pod

Premise: Put the pod on shuffle, first 10 songs....what you like about them, what they remind you of, why you have them, anything....GO.

1.  How :: The Cranberries
I heard this song on one of my favorite movies, Empire Records.  That is all I think about when I hear this song.

2.  The One That Got Away:: Katy Perry
Let me just begin with I hate Katy Perry.  Whew, now I can move on.  When I first heard this song, it was when I saw the music video.  I have no idea what possessed me to watch it, but I did.  The video made me cry and I instantly became obsessed with this song.  I remember driving to my parents house and I had this song on repeat for about an hour of the drive.  I'm not sure who exactly is my one who got away but...wait, yes I do.

3.  She Wants to Move :: N.E.R.D
I remember this song when it came out.  Didn't really care for it.  Then I was plowing through the Six Feet Under series for the second time and there is a scene where Claire goes to a party and this song is on.  I just remember thinking this song is amazing.

4.  Family :: Noah Gunderson
"Say something awful, as if fucking the world was your right."  If that line alone doesn't sell you, we probably have no chance of a friendship.  I heard this song on Sons of Anarchy and it blew me away.  I immediately looked it up.  Everything about this song amazing.  One of my favorites, ever.  And I listened to this song on repeat for the second hour of the trip to my parents house, right after Katy Perry.  Wow emotional was I?

5.  Doll Parts ::  Hole
I love Courtney Love, Obsessed.  I remember seeing the video for Doll Parts when it first came out.  I didn't really get it, I didn't understand the lyrics but I was drawn to it.  Now the pieces of Doll Parts make complete sense to me.  I still listen to Live Through This from start to finish.

6.  Living After Midnight ::  Judas Priest
Seriously, this song always gets me going.  It is booze and cigs and bad decisions, basically everything I love about my friends and I.

7.  Step Down :: The Moxy
A few years back I was in a pretty bad place.  I was housesitting for my folks and I got completely shit faced by myself and watched Where The Fuck is Santa?  This band performed this song at the very end and I dug it.

8.  And Love Said No :: HIM
"Kill me, I begged and love said no.  Leave me, for dead and let me go."
HIM does love songs like I like love songs.

9.  Make Me Wanna Die :: The Pretty Reckless
Just enjoy her gritty voice and TURN IT UP....LOUD!

10.  O Sailor :: Fiona Apple
Extraordinary Machine is one of my favorite albums.  I love Fiona Apple, she is soooo much more than Criminal.  "Everything good I deem too good to be true, everything else is a bore."

We play the same game...

"But if there was one specific person that inspires me, it's myself, for overcoming myself...everyday.  I am the most self destructive person on the planet."

Your obsession makes you interesting.

"That thing you’re obsessed with, that's your sickness, that’s what makes you lovable.  That’s what makes you extraordinary."

                                                             - itsasickness.com

The best way to learn what itsasickness.com is, is to just visit it.  It is a obsession network where people can talk or "geek out" as they put it about things they love or are obsessed with.  I like the concept, so I have decided to share my sickness on my blog, however if you have read my blog at all these obsessions probably will not surprise you.

1.  Chanel

I am OBSESSED with Chanel.  All things CHANEL.  Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel.  Double C's, Chanel.  Makeup, bags, shoes, jewlery, Chanel.  I have Chanel ads from Vogue magazine hanging on my walls in my bedroom.

2.  "The McQueenadillos"
I Love McQueen. Love.  His shows were a production and fucking amazing.  I was watching the live stream of his Plato's Atlantis collection and when I saw the first python boot step out my jaw dropped.  "The McQueenadillo" holy shit I am obsessed...I have countless images saved of the mythical beast.

3.  Home Scents
I am obsessed with Scentsy and candles.  I love having my bathroom and room smelling good.  I always have something going, it is relaxing.  I even enjoy buying hand soap from Bath and Body works that compliments the scent that I have in the bathroom.  I know...you don't have to say it.

4.  YouTube
Yup...pretty safe to say I am obsessed with YouTube.  Some people use it as a visual google kinda deal, a "how to" dictionary if you will.  Then you have the viral videos and whatnot.  But there is actually a ton of great content out there, from webseries to vlogs...yes VLOGS.  Who would of thought that watching complete strangers tote you around for a day could be interesting, but if you find the right one it actually is.  Some of the funniest stuff I have seen has been in a 3 minute webseries episode.  Short and sweet for the YouTube generation and thats how I like it.

I am going to wrap it up here.  It is terribly late for me and I couldn't tell you my middle name at this point.  Please excuse all grammatical and spelling errors in this post as I did not want to so much as go back and read this post over once to check for accuracy.

Window Shopping

I wanted to see how much damage I could if I had an unlimited budget, but a limited amount of time at a department store.  The only catch was I could not get any cosmetics...of course I could rack in an insane total with just a few Chanel, YSL and Givenchy items alone.  So I turned myself loose...I had my timer for 30 minutes, however after 15 I found myself struggling to find stuff I wanted.  I already had in mind what I wanted to look for and couldn't find it...why did I choose Nordstrom?!?!?! Ahhh I should have said Bloomies!!!!!  For the sake of the experiment I finished anyways.

Here are my findings:

Store: Nordstrom's Online
Browsing Time: 30 minutes

The following was everything that was in my online shopping cart:

Chloe Cutout T-Strap Cork Wedge
$595.00

Valentino Leather Espadrille
$495.00

Michael Kors Ceramic and Crystal Watch
$495.00

Tom Ford 'Charles' Aviator Sunglasses
$340.00

Michael Kors 'Tonne-Large' Shoulder Bag
$995.00

Marc Jacobs 'Carla' Tote
$995.00

Total Items: 6
Total Price: $ 3915.00

I don't think that is bad at all for a watch, a pair of sunglasses, 2 pairs of shoes and 2 handbags.  After I took a look at my shopping cart I couldn't help but notice that I even when I play pretend I still like what I like.

Tasty Treats Vol. 7

I feel like I just did an installment of Tasty Treats, however I already have a few new items that I am in love with so might as well.
First up to bat:

Bobbi Brown Corrector
I have horrible under eye circles.  I am of understanding of how the color wheel works, so I was in search of the perfect peachy colored concealer.  I did a lot of research and ended up going to see an artist at the Bobbi Brown counter and I could not be more pleased with my purchase.  It is so creamy and I don't even have to use concealer under my eyes anymore.  I highly recommend this product, it is amazing!

TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Root Boost Spray
Another instant love!  I was using another root lifter from TIGI that I hated because it left my roots feeling crunchy like I put mouse on my roots, but this one gives my roots so much volume, but still lets me run my fingers through it!

Chap-Et Sunban Sunscreen SPF 30
This is a lip balm and for the record I am a lip product nut!  I buy chapstick, lipgloss, lipstick lipbalm, dollar store, high end you name it, I can't help it.  Anyways I have been reaching for this one lately.  It is very light on the lips, which is lovely coming out of winter where I have been using MAC's honey salve which is very thick to keep my lips moisturized during the harsh weather.  It has SPF which is a plus because EVERYTHING that goes on my face has SPF, even my lips.  And the best part is that is smells like coconuts!  OK well let me rephrase that, it doesn't smell like coconuts, it reminds me of coconuts!  I couldn't find the actual product online but it looks just like this one only it is orange and yellow.  I def recommend this for the summer!

Peeping Tom

This is the guy who watches you through your window as you change.
I don't know why this video cracks me up!  The guy is so creeptastic, I love it!  And try to not get this song stuck in your head.
