Attack Attack!

I first heard these guys on Pop goes Punk 2 when they covered I Kissed a Girl. I didn't care for it too much. To me they sounded like Alesana, emo kids trying to be screamo but to me just sounds like 12 year olds screaming on a mic. Not my style, but some people enjoy them so to each their own...anyways so I was watching Headbangers Ball last night and they introduced the video "Stick Stickly" by Attack Attack! I took the time to roll my eyes and began looking for the channel clicker. Before I could find it, my mind was BLOWN... What the fack?!?!? Just when you start to get comfortable it switches up and you are like ?!?!?!?!?

It starts out heavy which is what caught my attention. And just when you get a nice headbang rhythm going it switches up into some emo/bitch rock sounding mode with the screamo in the background that I had remembered them for.....There is even a point where I was like are they using Auto Tunes (T-Pain voice thing), and later in the song it confirmed that they were. Anyways, at this point I start getting slightly annoyed because the beginning was just so awesome and now the song sucked...but for some reason I kept listening. While all of this was going on I was scratching my head at the sight of this band they just don't look like they'd play the type of music that they did...and they all matched. Hmmmm....OK so I snapped out of it and the song seems to be getting better and appealing more to my musical taste buds again. Ahhh there we go this song doesn't suck so bad anymore....

And then it happened....I heard it....

A guitar squeal.....slap my ass and call me Gertrude. That sound makes my knees weak.

While I was trying to recover from the shock and excitement...BAM...song switches up again...and cue the piano....now they have a 30 Seconds to Mars thing going on. Then back to the good stuff. At this point I am kind of getting the pattern of what they are doing and was expecting things to come to an end soon....holy shit I was not ready for the end...

Rather than spoil the entire song, check it out for yourself.

It is probably just me but this song is bananas. It is like MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!! But I love it. And the ending where they do that little electronic dance mix thing and then rock it and out....how can you not like it?

Verdict: On The Pod
