10 Peas In A Pod

I am dying to do another one of these.
Premise: Put the pod on shuffle, first 10 songs....what you like about them, what they remind you of, why you have them, anything....GO.

1. Dr. Greenthumb - Cypress Hill
This is the ringtone for my text messages. Probably one of my top 3 Cypress Hill Songs. I am more of a metal head, but being Mexican and all it is in my DNA to jam Cypress Hill. How can you not like them?

2. Tom Sawyer - Deadsy
So after seeing I Love You, Man I was curious to see what kind of Tom Sawyer covers were out there. I think this was the only one I found that I liked. I am not really a Deadsy fan but I really dig this version. I beamed this on the pod like 2 days ago.

3. Dracula's Lament - Jason Segel
I swear my Itunes is on shuffle! I love this! Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of my favorite movies EVER as you can tell from my sidebar! This song cracks me up and I have been singing it lately. I just think Jason Segel is hilarious! If you haven't seen the movie...WATCH IT! If you are easily offended, don't like vulgar languge and/or are uncomfortable by frontal male nudity, you might want to pass...and don't read my blog anymore.

4. Paparazzi - Lady GaGa
One of my favorite songs on The Fame. Well that whole CD is what came first LOVE or the LOVE SONG? Very electric, very pop.

5. Voices - Saosin
Love this song! It reminds me of this crazy night in my favorite city! A friend of a friend had a friend who was opening a bar so we went to get free booze. We drank drank drank. I danced on a table. We had sssooo much fun. On the way home we jammed this song ssssuper loud and over and over again. If you have seen my face/space pics of me in the back seat of a car with a jug of kitty litter and reference to the night we went ice skating...that was that night....anyways, anytime I hear this song I think of my girls and I singing Saosin at the top of our lungs waiting in line at What-A-Burger.

6. Paper Planes - M.I.A.
I got over this song right when everyone else decided it was fantastic. The very first time I heard it I was at LaBare's. You don't forget something like that. After that we would play it at this bar that one of my sorority sisters worked at and we would mimic the male strippers. Those were good times. It also played in the trailer for Pineapple Express which don't get me wrong is another one of my favorite movies EVER, but the song wore me out. So when I hear this song I think of men in thongs or men with bongs.

7. My Girl's Ex-Boyfriend - Reliant K
This is really not my style of music, but one of my really good friends played this for me. She said it was reallly cheesy but that her then boyfriend, now fiance played it for her. I just thought it was so sweet and I had never really heard a love song from that angle. Reliant K is really creative with their lyrics, I just wish their sound wasn't bitch rock.

8. Song For The Dumped - Ben Folds Five
This is an great breakup song! I have it on my Mix CD named Dirty Love:The Breakup which has everything from the I'm going out with my girls, the F-U's, Please Come back, Look who i'm shacking up with now, please come back, F-U, etc. This is a great track...."and don't forget, to give me back my black t-shirt!!!!"

9. Wake Up - Coheed and Cambria
Claudio Sanchez has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard. This is one of my favorite love songs. It is a ballad, it is confusing, it is sad, does he win or lose? Wait thats not a love song....It is to me....He'll wait forever if he has to. I know exactly what this reminds me of but I won't go into it. What came first LOVE or the LOVE SONG?

10. Love and Sex and Magic - Ciara
I just beamed this into the pod a few days ago as well. It grew on me quickly. I like it for now, but I am not sure if it will get on my nerves or not. Only time will tell. Good Jam.
