10 Peas In A Pod

Premise: Put the pod on shuffle, first 10 songs....what you like about them, what they remind you of, why you have them, anything....GO.

1. La Roux - Bulletproof
I believe I just mentioned this song as it is on my "Homebitch" playlist. In any case it is still one of my favorites. It is a jam that my mom and I JAM hard in the car. We turn the volume way up and just act silly. Any song that can get you dancing is a winner in my book!

2. Designer Drugs - Zombies!
I never get tired of this song! It reminds me of being under the influence on Halloween in the Gayborhood of the gorgeous city I used to live in. Ohhh how I miss those days. Glitter and glowstick overload. Good times.

3. Say Anything - Vexed
I love "In Defense of the Genre!" Say Anything is one of my guilty pleasures. And I have spent many a road trip belting out tracks from this album Vexed included at the top of my lungs.

4. System of a Down - Spiders
Wow this song takes me back to a very dark time. Doing things I shouldn't have been with people I shouldn't have been with. System and Slipknot was part of the soundtrack I remember...this song makes me uncomfortable to be honest with you.

5. Children of Bodom - Needled 24/7
This is the first Bodom song I ever heard. And what came first love or the love song? I heard it on Viva la Bam and I was like whoa I need more of this band! I love Bodom...I think I have mentioned them a few times before in my blog.

6. Lady Gaga - Alejandro
Umm I got this on the pod literally a few days ago, and to be honest it is not my favorite song off the Fame Monster. I don't know what kind of accent she is trying to pull off in the beginning but I am not buying it. It kind of reminds of "La Isla Bonita" by Madonna..No?

7. Bebe - Malo
I fell in love with Bebe's music after one of my sorority sisters played this song for me. We were going out and she picked me up in her Mustang (yeah it was a few years ago lol), we put the top down and she said that I HAD to listen to this song. What came first love or the love song? I remember her favorite line was "Cada vez que me dice puta, se hace tu cerebro mas pequeno." We zipped out onto the freeway with this song on repeat all night...good times.

8. Paul Simon - Still Crazy After All These Years
I first heard this song in my History of Rock class I took in college. Yes History of Rock Music...the best class I ever took, second only to music in film. Anyways the second I heard it immediately reminded me of one individual. We pop in and out of each others lives but whenever that happens we just pick up the pieces right where we left off only to find that we're ...still crazy after all these years.

9. Gary Jules - Mad World
DONNIE DARKO....HELLO! Damn, I love a haunting piano.

10. Lamb of God - Broken Hands
A lot of metal songs remind me of my cousin. Mainly because he is one of the few people who can handle metal in such high doses. We have jammed "Wrath" which is the album this song is off of many a time. Sitting outside, smoking cigs and talking shit....family.
