So I decided to read for leisure. I guess that was my new years resolution. I am doing quite well. Anyways, now I am reading "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." I have read this book already. I think I was in junior high, whenever it came out. It was hyped by MTV and seemed oh so cool. I read it and it was OMFG like so totally awesome, the greatest piece of literary work ever. I wanted to read it again, just to see how my outlook and perspectives have changed since growing older. My plan was to knock this book out in one day, one sitting if possible. It is a rinky dinky little book, I could do it. It has been 3 days. It is not the length that got me...this book is sssssoooooo boring. I found myself dozing, wondering if I had any facebook notifications or if any of my youtube subscriptions had uploaded a new video. Blah. So I am going to clear my head, close the book and start from the beginning and read it straight through just as I had intended. I'll let you know how it goes. My motivation: I have stumbled upon some other books l would like to try out and see if I like. They are not celebrity memoirs or comedy/humor as I have been doing lately, so the switch up will be a bit of a treat.
Also, I did community service. While at Barnes & Noble, I successfully convinced my mom out of buying the Twilight series. There is no bridge between Twilight and adults. Period. There is a rather large amount of grown up vampire series out there if vampire is what you are looking for. However, if you are over the age of 16, Twilight is not that series. Why not try out the series by Charlaine Harris who wrote the books by which the TV show True Blood (which is awesome) is based? You know the one who wrote her books long before Twilight was even a thought and yet has blink to handshake similarities as the now annoyingly popular diet vampire stories.....yyyyyeeeeaaaahhhhhh....that one.
OMG....get ahold of yourself!
I was about to go into a full blown Twilight rant.
